When an installer changes hands
Solar business for sale: keep the design and install archive
A sale or a closure is when an installer's archive is most likely to vanish: design seats are cancelled, the CRM lapses and monitoring access moves to the homeowners. The archive can go with the company or be licensed on its own.
Ask about my solar records 9 of the 17 solar platforms we read keep a right over pooled customer data. Tell us where your designs and install records sit and we will write back about them.
Export before the seats are cancelled
WattMonk's policy deletes customer data 30 days after termination, and SolarNexus deletes data 30 days after an inactive account is scheduled for deletion. On our board 2 of 17 vendors give any period in days at all, so export is a step in the sale plan.

What a buyer of the archive wants
The linked record: a survey, the design it produced, the permit pack that approved it and the commissioning and photo record of what was built, across hundreds or thousands of installs.
The export payments and incentives
Programme records sit in the same files and carry the system owners' details: Smart Export Guarantee arrangements in Great Britain, where Ofgem's page for generators says SEG licensees must offer a SEG tariff to all eligible generators, and Massachusetts SMART applications.
